Taiwan Market | Report on Taiwan's Machine Tool and Key Components Import & Export in June 2026

According to Taiwan's trade statistics for January to June 2026, machine tool exports totaled US$978 million, representing a 3.1% decline compared with the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, imports reached US$313 million, an increase of 13.1% year-on-year. Key machine tool components recorded stronger performance, with exports totaling US$814 million, up 11.4%, while imports grew 28.2% to US$122 million

 

In June 2026, Taiwan's machine tool exports amounted to approximately US$177 million, decreasing 8.8% from May and 8.3% from June 2025. Metal-cutting machine tools accounted for about US$150 million, while metal-forming machine tools contributed US$27.2 million

 

For the first half of 2026, Taiwan's top export destinations for machine tools were China (including Hong Kong), the United States, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Türkiye, Malaysia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan

 

On the import side, June machine tool imports totaled approximately US$61.4 million, up 12.1% from May and 20.9% year-on-year. Japan remained the largest source of machine tool imports, followed by China (including Hong Kong), Germany, South Korea, and Switzerland. 

 

The performance of key machine tool components continued to outperform complete machines. During January-June 2026, exports of key components increased by 11.4%, highlighting resilient global demand for Taiwan's precision components and reinforcing the sector's importance within the international manufacturing supply chain.
