TMBA elimi Women Managers’ Association Visits Chenbro’s New Chiayi Plant; Tongtai’s Lulu Yen Appointed 6th President to Drive "Empowering Beauty & Diverse Value Crea

The elimi Women Managers’ Association, established by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), visited the Chiayi plant of Chenbro Micom, a leading server chassis brand celebrating its 40th anniversary, on December 13, 2022. On the same day, the association held its election for the 6th presidency, where Lulu Yen, Vice President of Tongtai Machine & Tool Co., Ltd., was elected as the new President.

A Decade of Empowering Women in the "Mother of Industry"

Machine tools are the "mother of all industries." Historically, it was a male-dominated "black-hand" sector where women were rarely seen beyond the role of the "boss's wife." As business models evolved and globalized, female managers began to emerge. Founded on May 2, 2012, elimi has reached its 10th anniversary. Under the leadership of founding President Enid Tsai (General Manager of HIWIN Technologies), and her successors Tu Mei-hua (Chairwoman of Yin-Chieh Foundry), Huang Chin-yun (General Manager of Walrus Pump), and Maggi Chen (Chairwoman of Chenbro Micom), the association has stayed true to its mission—bringing a positive, "soft yet resilient" influence to the industry.

Unlike typical women’s associations, elimi is composed of nearly 90 female entrepreneurs, professional managers, and second-generation successors. Their goal is to leverage feminine qualities—gentleness, intellect, and empathy—through a shared learning platform. Like sowing rice seeds, they aim to spread "pink power" to cultivate a culture of "shared prosperity and mutual honor" in Taiwan’s precision machinery industry.

Chenbro Chiayi Plant: A Hub of Technology and Humanity

Following a visit to Chenbro’s Xinzhuang headquarters in 2020, elimi returned to visit Chenbro’s new facility in the Machouhou Industrial Park, Chiayi. The plant is a stunning 2.8 billion TWD investment in green architecture, spanning over 10,000 pings. With its nine-meter-high floors and surrounding ecological ponds, the open-concept design shatters the stereotype of "boxy and dull" factories, creating a space that encourages young talent to return to their hometowns for work.

The first-floor Story House features the large-scale sculpture "Entropy" by Spanish artist Salvador Marco, symbolizing the accumulation of the past to innovate for a sustainable future. Chairwoman Maggi Chen also commissioned mosaic artist Ou Chih-cheng to recreate paintings by Chuang Yu-ming in the basement. These artworks depict scenes of hardworking farmers and joyful harvests, mirroring Chenbro’s corporate culture of diligence and gratitude.

In the main lobby on the first floor stands the monumental sculpture "Entropy," symbolizing the concept of "Accumulating the Past, Innovating the Present, and Sustaining the Future."

Reflecting on her 40-year journey, Chairwoman Maggi Chen shared: "When your heart truly wants to achieve something, benefactors will appear to help. Always remain humble, and treat hardships as nourishment for the future."

Empowering Beauty, Diverse Value Creation

For its 6th term, Lulu Yen takes the helm as President, supported by Vice President Chou Li-jung (Associate Director of PMC) and Secretary General Huang Chia-lin (Manager at Hao-Li-Hui).

President Yen announced the theme "Empowering Beauty, Diverse Value Creation" for her tenure. She established three major committees to embody elimi’s core values of Warmth, Innovation, and Excellence:

  • Art & Culture Committee: Using art and charity to spread warmth.

  • Events Committee: Sparking innovation through diverse member activities.

  • Public Relations Committee: Leveraging social media to showcase the excellence of women in machinery and attract top talent to the sector.

President Yen concluded with a poetic vision for the members: "Scattered, we are sparkling grains of rice; gathered, we are a bountiful and elegant ear of grain."

Nurturing Relationships and Giving Back

The elimi Book Club, moderated by Manager Wu Fei-jan of Haber, recently discussed "Dialogue Exercises in the Family," exploring how to understand the "inner iceberg" of oneself and others to build effective communication.

The ELITE Reading Club selected the book "Dialogue Practice in the Family" for this session, fostering mutual growth through shared learning. President Maggie Chen (left) presented a gift on behalf of the club to the guest speaker, Hsiao-Ting Lin (right), General Manager of TPI (Global Tek Fabrication Co., Ltd.).

Simultaneously, the association continues to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. This year, elimi donated 100,000 TWD to the Happy Learning Association, founded by Director Wu Nien-jen. The association supports 84 "Secret Bases" across Taiwan, providing after-school care and education for nearly 2,500 underprivileged children. As Director Wu says, "Every child needs to be cared for, because they are the future of Taiwan."

ELITE donated NT$100,000 to the "After School Association of Taiwan," fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through charitable actions.
