AI-Driven Value Enhancement to Boost Industrial Competitiveness – Intelligent Asia 2024
“Intelligent Asia 2024” opened on August 21 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, bringing together 1,200 global technology and manufacturing companies across 4,500 booths. Concurrent exhibitions included the “Taipei International Industrial Automation Exhibition,” “Taiwan Robotics and Intelligent Automation Show,” “Taipei International Mold & Smart Manufacturing Equipment Show,” “Taiwan 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Equipment Show,” “Taipei International Logistics & IoT Show,” “Taipei International Cold Chain Technology Show,” “Taiwan International Laser Show,” and the “Taipei International Fluid Power and Intelligent Control Show.” These events showcased how AI is applied in smart manufacturing to improve efficiency and competitiveness across the industrial chain.
Chen Cheng, Vice Chairman of the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event. Distinguished guests included Premier Cho Jung-tai, Executive Yuan Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin, Minister of Economic Affairs Kuo Tzu-hui, and Chairman of the Mold Association Chang Ho-ming. In his speech, Premier Cho emphasized that the government will fully support Taiwan’s traditional industries and SMEs to strengthen supply chains and enhance Taiwan’s economic resilience.
On-site demonstrations featured robots with data analytics and self-learning capabilities, such as robotic arms from ABB, FANUC, KUKA, and Yaskawa Electric; collaborative robots from Universal Robots, Techman, and MSI; and industrial computers from Advantech, ASUS, and ADLINK. The four-day event also hosted the “AI Smart Manufacturing International Forum,” “Gen AI Smart Manufacturing Exchange Seminar,” “Taiwan-Germany Smart Machinery Forum,” and “New Product and Technology Launches,” offering in-depth discussions on AI applications in automation, global trends, and future developments.
The sustainable logistics, laser technology, and fluid power exhibitions focused on the theme of “Sustainable Development,” showcasing smart logistics and cold chain technologies. The “Smart Logistics Forum” explored supply chain resilience, ESG sustainability, smart refrigeration and cold chain technology, AMRs, and sorting robots, with experts sharing insights and experiences on smart logistics and cold chain ecosystems.
Intelligent Asia brings together automation, robotics, 3D printing, smart molds, logistics and IoT, cold chain technology, laser applications, fluid power, and mechanical components, presenting digital transformation trends for factories at all levels and integrated hardware-software solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the industrial chain.
