Taiwan Machine Tool Industry Outlook Press Conference: Challenges and Opportunities Coexist in 2025
Taiwan's machine tool industry is renowned globally for its precision technology and innovation capabilities, playing a crucial role in the global manufacturing supply chain for a long time. However, as the global economy remains full of uncertainties in 2025, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) held the "2025 Machine Tool Industry Outlook" press conference on January 13th. Chairman Po-Chia Chen shared the current industry status and future outlook during the event. The TMBA maintains a cautious yet optimistic attitude towards the industry's economic prospects for 2025 and proposed proactive response strategies, aspiring for Taiwan's machine tool industry to continuously enhance its competitiveness and achieve steady development.
Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development: Drivers for Industrial Upgrading
The TMBA believes that digital transformation and sustainable development are the key drivers for upgrading Taiwan's machine tool industry. According to a survey of member companies, domestic machine tool and component manufacturers have actively adopted advanced technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Big Data analytics to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Simultaneously, environmentally friendly and energy-saving processes and designs will become crucial factors for winning in the future market.
Cross-Domain Collaboration: Building an Industrial Ecosystem
In an increasingly competitive global environment, supply chain integration and cross-domain collaboration are paramount. The Association will actively promote cooperation among machine tool-related industries (such as screws, bicycles, water hardware, hand tools, etc.) to jointly establish a comprehensive industrial ecosystem. By implementing strategies like establishing common platforms and sharing resources, the industry aims to strengthen supply chain cooperation and further enhance Taiwan's international competitiveness.
TMTS 2026: AI Empowerment, Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing
To showcase the innovative energy of Taiwan's machine tool industry, the TMBA previewed the Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS 2026), which will be held from March 3rd to 7th, 2026, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center under the theme: "AI Empowerment, Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing." The exhibition will feature many of the latest machine tool products equipped with AI technology, fully demonstrating the abundant achievements in digital transformation and sustainable development.
