Taiwan Machine Tool Association Organizes Delegation to Seize Business Opportunities at METALTECH 2024 in Malaysia
The 28th Malaysia International Machine Tools and Metalworking Technology Exhibition (METALTECH 2024) was held from May 15 to May 18 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), attracting visitors from nearly 50 countries worldwide. A total of 23,293 attendees set a new record for the exhibition’s highest visitor count. MITEC, the venue for this year’s event, was completed in 2018 and is located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. It is currently Malaysia’s largest and Asia’s third-largest professional exhibition center, offering an expansive space for business development and networking.
METALTECH 2024 utilized five exhibition halls, with countries such as Taiwan, China, Singapore, South Korea, and Germany showcasing their products in national pavilions. Exhibitors came from 12 countries, totaling over 449 companies, and the overall exhibition area reached 25,000 square meters.
This year, five Taiwanese companies participated under the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) delegation, including the association’s service booth, occupying 11 booths in total with an area of 99 square meters. Among them, three companies—Shin Hu Jiang, Jin Hong, and Kao Reh Furnace—exhibited in Hall 2 on the first floor. Two component manufacturers, Ri Ruey and Taiwan Tungsten Steel, showcased their products in Hall 7 on the second floor. Additionally, other Taiwanese machine tool and component manufacturers joined through local agents or subsidiaries, such as Hiwin, Kaeber, Seven Star, and Delta.
On the afternoon of May 15, Chang Yuan-Chih, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, along with Secretary Chang Kai-Ting and Peng Hsiang-Yin, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur, visited the exhibition. They were accompanied by TMBA representatives to meet with Taiwanese exhibitors, learn about the marketing status of Taiwan’s machine tools and components in Malaysia, and exchange views on Taiwan-Malaysia trade and industrial policies. The goal was to help Taiwanese companies expand business opportunities in Malaysia’s related application markets.
