Monthly Machine Tool Orders (February 2026)

The total value of machine tool orders in February was 146.74 billion yen. This increased 0.8% compared to January 2026 and marked the first month of month-on-month growth in two months.

Moreover, this figure represented an increase of 24.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and marked the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year growth.

Total orders peaked at 140 billion yen for three consecutive months, marked the eighth consecutive month of increase compared to the same month last year.

Machine tool orders in February remained strong, showing year-on-year increases in both domestic and international demand. Looking ahead, we anticipate further growth in machine tool orders due to the expected effects of policy support on domestic demand and a sustained recovery in international demand.

We expect the year-end investment effect and the further recovery trend in international demand to lead to a virtuous cycle in the economy, and that orders will continue to grow in the following month.

Furthermore, this figure showed an increase of 10.1% over the same month of the previous year.
