Machine tool exports
Taiwan’s machine tool exports totaled US$178 million in July, up 8.8% year-on-year and 0.8% month-on-month.
January–July exports
Cumulative machine tool exports reached US$1.156 billion, down 1.5% year-on-year. Metal-cutting machine tools accounted for US$945 million, down 2.3%, while metal-forming machine tools reached US$211 million, up 2.3%.
Major export markets
The top ten destinations were China (including Hong Kong), the United States, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Türkiye, Malaysia, Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands.
Machine tool imports
July imports totaled US$52.18 million, down 15% month-on-month but up 1.8% year-on-year.
January–July imports
Cumulative imports reached US$365 million, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year. Japan, China (including Hong Kong), South Korea, Germany and Switzerland were the leading sources.
Key component exports
Exports of key machine tool components reached US$155 million in July, up 17.2% year-on-year and 6.3% month-on-month.
January–July component exports
Cumulative exports totaled US$969 million, representing strong 12.3% year-on-year growth. Major markets included China (including Hong Kong), the United States, Japan, India, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, Thailand and Singapore.
Key component imports
July imports amounted to approximately US$22.37 million, up 30.3% year-on-year. January–July cumulative imports reached US$144 million, up 28.5% year-on-year.
Market outlook
Overall, Taiwan’s machine tool industry showed a dual-track trend, with machine tool exports remaining under pressure while key component exports continued to recover strongly, reflecting renewed global manufacturing demand and ongoing supply chain restructuring.
