Targeting an $800 Million Market: Exhibitors from 21 Countries Converge in Ho Chi Minh City

The 21st MTA Vietnam (International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition) was held from July 2 to 5 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's exhibition attracted approximately 13,142 professional buyers from 21 countries and regions, featuring nearly 450 exhibitors with a total exhibition area exceeding 13,000 square meters.

According to 2023 market data, Vietnam's machine tool market reached 805 million euros, ranking as the 15th largest machine tool market in the world. Recent 2025 data shows that Vietnam's manufacturing sales index increased significantly by 10.1% compared to the same period in 2024, and the industrial inventory index rose by 12%. This indirectly reflects the sustained strong demand for machinery and equipment, bringing immense business opportunities to the machine tool industry.

The exhibition utilized both Hall A and Hall B. Seven countries—Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Italy, and Thailand—participated in the form of national pavilions, creating an international competitive landscape and highlighting the high importance these nations place on this rapidly growing market.

Smart Manufacturing Becomes the Mainstream Trend: Five Major End-User Industries Drive Demand

Facing the global wave of digital transformation in manufacturing, MTA Vietnam 2025 focused closely on future development trends. In collaboration with local industry associations such as the Vietnam Automobile Association (VAA), Vietnam Testing and Certification Center (VINATEST), and Vietnam Association of Mechanical-Electric Enterprises (VEMEA), the event hosted numerous professional seminars focusing on trending topics such as automation, smart factories, and AI applications.

The Vietnamese machine tool market is primarily driven by five major end-user industries: automotive manufacturing, aerospace and defense, electrical and electronics, consumer goods manufacturing, and precision engineering. With the Vietnamese government actively promoting Industry 4.0 policies and the continuous expansion of foreign manufacturing bases, the output value of Vietnam's machine tool manufacturing is estimated to reach $141 million in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) expected to maintain a steady 5.5% from 2025 to 2029.

The exhibition featured numerous demonstrations of robotics and automation technology applications, providing visitors with first-hand insights into the latest industry trends, technological developments, and market dynamics. It served as an excellent platform for international manufacturers seeking to enter the Vietnamese market for exchange and cooperation.

Eye-Catching Taiwan Pavilion: The "MIT" Brand Image Deeply Impresses

The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) organized 11 high-quality manufacturers to participate, including Chia-Gil, Yuan Jun, Awea, Urban Precision, E-Chayn, Goodway, Hiwin, Jinn Fa, Yu Wei, Taiwan Taishuan, and TBI Motion. Together with the association's service booth, there were a total of 28 booths covering an exhibition area of 252 square meters.

The exhibits covered a wide range of products, including vertical five-axis machining centers, CNC lathes, and other precision machine tool equipment, as well as ball screws, linear guideways, broaches, jigs and fixtures, cutting tools, and other key components, showcasing a comprehensive and diverse product line.

The design of the Taiwan Pavilion was uniquely creative. In addition to integrating visual elements related to smart machinery, it cleverly combined iconic Taiwanese landmarks such as Taipei 101 and Jade Mountain (Yushan). A prominent "TAIWAN" logo was placed in the center of the pavilion, helping visitors quickly identify the location of "Made in Taiwan" (MIT) products and enhancing the international brand recognition of Taiwan.

Limitless Potential in Vietnam: Strong Interest from Manufacturers in Strategic Positioning

Through this exhibition, Taiwanese exhibitors expressed continued optimism about the massive market potential in Vietnam. Many actively inquired about exhibition information in surrounding industrial zones such as Binh Duong and Bac Ninh, demonstrating a strong desire to further penetrate the Vietnamese market. Many manufacturers expressed plans on-site to participate in the next MTA Vietnam exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, reflecting the excellent results of the show and the rising attractiveness of Vietnam as an emerging manufacturing hub.
