Manufacturing & Machine Tool Indonesia 2022 was held from November 30 to December 3, 2022, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO Kemayoran). As Indonesia’s largest industrial machinery exhibition and the only one in the country with UFI certification, it attracts the highest number of international group pavilions. Organized by PT. Pamerindo Indonesia (part of Informa Markets), the four-day event drew a total of 25,303 professional buyers and visitors.

Indonesia stands as the largest market among ASEAN nations, holding an undeniable position of importance. Despite global instability and uncertainty, strong domestic demand has led many economists to remain optimistic about Indonesia’s economic prospects. With eight years of political stability and economic growth under President Joko Widodo, the populace remains optimistic about the future. Following the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022, The Economist noted that Indonesia will become increasingly vital over the next decade, predicting its influence will surge over the next 25 years as it becomes the next "Asian Power."

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, physical exhibitions have returned to the Indonesian machine tool market. This year’s exhibition occupied two halls; although the scale was halved compared to pre-pandemic levels, the turnout remained strong. The event spanned 17,800 square meters and featured 843 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions, all vying for a foothold in this emerging market. Six national pavilions were featured: Taiwan, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and India. The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) was the sole organization to form a delegation this year, representing nine companies: HIWIN, Minllu, Tong-Gong, Jia-Hung, Yi-Sheng, I-Lead, Yuh-Meng, Ying-Lin, and Matrix. Exhibits included machine tools, components, cutting tools, and related accessories.

Leveraging the TAITRA marketing platform, HIWIN launched its Articulated Welding Robot, designed to enhance efficiency and assist the Indonesian automotive industry in achieving "lights-out" factory goals. Its subsidiary, Matrix, showcased gear grinding machines and gear cutting tools, demonstrating precision manufacturing and innovation. Tong-Gong, known for its deep roots in manufacturing, exhibited its Vertical Machining Center. I-Lead presented energy-saving air compressors tailored for the Southeast Asian market, specifically addressing equipment wear caused by high temperatures and voltage fluctuations, while collaborating with local distributors to provide premium service.

In response to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability trends, the organizers implemented several eco-friendly measures: eliminating printed floor plans to reduce waste, providing digital kiosks for information, replacing plastic badge holders with kraft paper, and using recycled pallets for directional signage.

Recycled pallets were used to create directional signage throughout the exhibition venue.

Digital information kiosks located throughout the venue replaced traditional printed exhibition materials.

Additionally, TAITRA organized an integrated marketing event under the Smart Machinery Overseas Promotion Program. This included the "Taiwan Smart Manufacturing: Assisting Indonesia's Sustainable Recovery" 360-degree Experience Pavilion, which used digital 360-degree technology to showcase Taiwan's smart production lines. A product launch event was also held, featuring companies like HIWIN, FFG (Fair Friend Group), Tongtai, SEYI, and Mirle, offering various solutions for smart manufacturing transformation and carbon reduction.
