From Energy Efficiency to AI Empowerment: Dual-Axis Certification Driving the Machine Tool Industry Toward AI-Enabled and Green Value Chains
To propel the industry toward a smarter and more sustainable future, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) has conducted the 3rd "Energy-Saving Label" and the inaugural "AI Excellence Label" evaluations. These labels represent the industry's achievements in Digital Transformation (DX) and Green Transformation (GX), aligning with the TMTS 2026 theme: "AI-Powered Sustainable Manufacturing."
This year's evaluation highlights significant progress. Regarding energy efficiency, manufacturers are moving beyond component design to align with international standards like ISO 14955 and carbon footprint verification. In the AI category, the focus is on practical value—optimizing operations and enhancing user experience. Notably, SMEs are demonstrating high agility in using AI to accelerate their upgrade process.
The results are impressive: 17 products received Energy-Saving Labels (8 Gold, 9 Silver), bringing the cumulative total to 115 since 2023. For the AI Excellence Labels, 9 companies were recognized in the "Enterprise Category" (6 Gold, 3 Silver), and 11 items in the "Product Category" (7 Gold, 4 Silver). TMBA hosted the award ceremony during the TMTS 2026 Welcome Gala to celebrate these milestones, reinforcing Taiwan's global competitiveness in the DX × GX era.
