Building Connections in North India: Taiwan Smart Manufacturing at AMTEX 2026

Representative Machine Tool Exhibitions in India

Given India’s vast geography and the diversity of its manufacturing clusters and end-use industries, the country’s machine tool exhibition landscape has developed into a dual structure: national flagship exhibitions alongside regional specialized shows. Based on exhibition scale, continuity, professional focus, and regional representativeness, this report compares five exhibitions—AMTEX, PMTX, IMTEX, HIMTEX, and ACMEE. The list is not intended to cover all machine tool exhibitions in India.

Relationship Between Major Indian Exhibitions and Regional Industrial Clusters

Bengaluru, where IMTEX is held, is one of India’s key machine tool production hubs. The surrounding region also hosts aerospace, defense, automotive, and information technology industries, making IMTEX the largest in scale and the most comprehensive in terms of complete machines, key components, and digital manufacturing solutions. Chennai has a mature automotive and component supply chain, which explains ACMEE’s particular emphasis on automation, robotics, industrial IoT, and smart manufacturing applications for small and medium-sized enterprises. Pune, meanwhile, is an important cluster in western India for automobiles, metalworking, casting and forging, molds and dies, and general engineering. PMTX’s advantage lies in its proximity to local end users, reducing the cost for regional buyers to visit the exhibition and evaluate equipment.

Hyderabad is home to aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics, and heavy engineering industries. In addition to machine tools, HIMTEX also includes process equipment, measurement, and industrial automation. AMTEX is positioned within the Delhi-NCR market. The surrounding Delhi-Gurugram-Faridabad corridor is a major automotive cluster in northern India, while Greater Noida and Uttar Pradesh continue to develop electronics, electrical equipment, and manufacturing industries. This gives AMTEX a buyer structure distinct from exhibitions in South and West India.

Features of AMTEX 2026

AMTEX (Asian Machine Tool Exhibition), launched in 2001, mainly focuses on metal cutting, machine tools, and manufacturing technologies. The 2026 edition marked the 14th edition of the show. The venue was moved from Pragati Maidan in New Delhi to India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, and the event was held concurrently with Fastener Fair India, enabling machine tools, cutting tools, fasteners, measurement, automation, and peripheral equipment to be presented during the same exhibition period.

AMTEX 2026 covered approximately 15,000 sq. m., featured more than 650 exhibitors, and attracted 19,285 visitors. Visitors came from seven countries and regions, including India, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Japan, while exhibitors represented six countries and regions. Exhibitors spanned CNC machine tools, conventional machine tools, cutting tools, measurement equipment, CAD/CAM, hydraulics and pneumatics, industrial filtration, and automation integration, including Indian machine tool builders, international brands, agents, and component suppliers. Compared with the larger IMTEX, AMTEX’s main advantage is not its scale as India’s largest exhibition, but its proximity to buyers in Delhi-NCR and northern India, providing a platform for equipment display, agent engagement, end-user demand validation, and cross-border supply chain matchmaking.

Taiwan Pavilion at AMTEX 2026

The Taiwan Pavilion was located at booth B39 in Hall 10 of India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The 36 sq. m. image area adopted a two-sided open design, combining a stage, joint displays by six participating companies, and a meeting area. Under the theme “Precision from Taiwan. Progress for India,” the pavilion highlighted Taiwan’s smart manufacturing image. The Taiwan delegation comprised 18 companies, covering complete machine tools, key components, cutting tools, and process equipment, demonstrating Taiwan’s integrated supply capabilities from machinery to process services. On the first day of the exhibition, PMC Deputy Director Ken YAO, TMBA Secretary General Chen Chung-ping, and Yu-Chi Chen, Head of the Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, visited the pavilion for exchanges. A Taiwan–India Smart Manufacturing Forum was also held, where Cosmos Group, SOCO Machinery, Ingenious Machinery, Cheng-Hsin Precision Technology, and Oscar EDM shared practical approaches for supporting India’s manufacturing upgrade from the perspectives of market demand, smart machinery, digital management, cutting tool applications, and localized services.

In addition to the forum, PMC introduced smart machinery and technology solutions on the afternoon of the second day. Eight companies, including 7-Leaders, Ingenious Machinery, Chen-Li Machinery, SOCO Machinery, Shuohtay Enterprise, Yaw Sheng Machinery, Cheng-Hsin Precision Technology, and Oscar EDM, delivered presentations covering equipment, cutting tools, cutting fluids, and process technologies, helping buyers compare supplier capabilities efficiently. On the third day, sample displays, product testing, and small-volume trial orders formed the core of the activities, with more than 30 buyer matchmaking sessions completed across applications such as automotive, industrial machinery, aerospace and defense, and electronics and semiconductors. The joint press event on the first day also attracted six Indian media outlets. Related articles, interviews, videos, and social media content connected pre-show promotion, on-site engagement, and post-show follow-up, further expanding the international promotional impact of the Taiwan Pavilion.
