Putting Sustainability into Practice: TMBA Corporate Volunteers Take Part in Mountain Cleanup

The 2026 Greater Taichung Corporate Volunteer Day was held on August 22. This year’s “Mountain Cleanup Initiative” was organized and convened by the Topkey Education Foundation. The Corporate Volunteer Alliance of the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) participated as an event partner, inviting corporate volunteers from the machine tool and accessory industry to enter the mountain area and take concrete action in environmental protection, reflecting the industry’s commitment to sustainable development and social engagement.

The event took place at Sheng Ai Villa in Taiping District, Taichung City. Despite the rainy weather, corporate volunteers remained dedicated to environmental cleanup efforts. Wearing rain gear and working together in teams, volunteers cleared fallen leaves, moss, and weeds along the mountain trails, helping restore the paths to a clean and safe condition. The combination of rain and hard work highlighted the spirit of corporate volunteers in protecting the environment through action, while also echoing the industry’s sense of responsibility in participating in public affairs.

TMBA was represented by Standing Director Jack Wu of the Social Committee, with corporate volunteers from Ying Han Precision, De Chuan Machinery, Ming Jiu Company, Quaser Machine Tools, Habot Precision, YCM, and Leadwell CNC also taking part. Volunteers from different companies worked together to complete the mountain cleanup, demonstrating that sustainability is not only a corporate management goal but also a practice that extends into daily life and society.

For the machine tool industry, sustainable development includes not only energy conservation, carbon reduction, green manufacturing, and supply chain management, but also long-term corporate commitment to the environment and society. Corporate volunteer service is one important way to put ESG into practice. Through employee participation, corporate collaboration, and cross-organizational cooperation, sustainability concepts can be translated into tangible and meaningful social impact.

Planned by the Topkey Education Foundation, this mountain cleanup initiative brought together companies and the local community to jointly protect the forests. As a participating partner, the TMBA Corporate Volunteer Alliance continues to build the industry’s capacity in environmental protection, public service, and social engagement through charitable action, leaving a concrete footprint in corporate sustainability practices.

This event conveyed the spirit of “one action, one act of protection, making the mountains and forests better.” It also showed that corporate sustainability is not merely a commitment, but requires long-term dedication and concrete action. Through repeated volunteer services, the connections between companies and society, as well as between industry and the environment, can grow stronger, allowing sustainability awareness to continue deepening across the industry.
