With support from the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Institute for Information Industry (III) and the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) jointly advanced the Smart Machinery Industry Alliance. From October 7 to 9, 2026, the Alliance brought eight Taiwanese companies to Manufacturing World Osaka at INTEX Osaka, presenting an integrated showcase of Taiwan’s smart machinery and ultra-precision manufacturing capabilities to the Japanese market.

Alliance Targets Japan with Ultra-Precision Manufacturing Solutions

The showcase spanned five core fields: precision machining; EDM and specialty processes; grinding and cutting tools; automation and motion control; and AI-enabled smart manufacturing. Solutions were presented through applications in semiconductors, aerospace, automotive production, and precision medical devices, highlighting capabilities ranging from production equipment and enabling technologies to intelligent system integration.

Under the theme “Connecting Intelligence, Co-Creating Ultra-Precision Manufacturing,” the joint pavilion unified the participating companies under a distinct Taiwan identity while highlighting their individual strengths. A trilingual brochure in Chinese, English, and Japanese introduced the Alliance, its members, and their product portfolios. During the exhibition, the delegation engaged with 91 prospective customers, including Japanese precision machinery manufacturers seeking semiconductor-component partnerships and advanced industrial-materials suppliers—clear evidence of Japan’s interest in Taiwan’s precision manufacturing and smart-production solutions.
