The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) and Microsoft Taiwan held the "Machine Tool Ecosystem Platform Onboarding & Application Experience Workshop" on February 20th at the Windsor Hotel Taichung.

The event gathered over 150 representatives from industry, government, academia, and research sectors. Cross-industry associations and institutes attending included the Taiwan Mold & Die Industry Association, Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers' Association, Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Association (TAIROA), the Second Generation of Machinery Industry Association, Tan-Ya-Shen Industrial Advancement Association, National Taiwan University, National Chung Hsing University, MIRDC (Metal Industries Research & Development Centre), PMC (Precision Machinery Research and Development Center), ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), and TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council). Together, they witnessed the official launch of the industry knowledge platform ecosystem specifically built by the TMBA for the machine tool industry.

Accelerating Digital Transformation: Industry Ecosystem Officially Launched

The goal of this workshop was to help TMBA members understand and join the machine tool industry ecosystem platform and experience how AI digital tools can empower industrial transformation. The event kicked off with welcoming remarks from TMBA Chairman Po-Chia Chen, Microsoft Taiwan Global Partner Solutions General Manager Chung-Ju Chen, and IDA Deputy Group Leader Tsung-Hsun Tsou.

The TMBA is committed to helping its members solve pain points and enhance the overall industry's competitiveness and added value through digital transformation and AI empowerment. This event provided members with practical experience of the platform's functions, teaching them how to utilize AI tools and collectively build a mutually beneficial and symbiotic industrial ecosystem. Key Microsoft Taiwan partners—Arrant Technology, WiAdvance Technology, and Daiichi Smart Manufacturing—were also invited to lead interactive experiences.

AI Empowers Enterprises, Enhancing Operational Efficiency

The TMBA organized 72 daily work processes and prioritized 15 of them for immediate solutions. By using AI tools to solve these problems, the association aims to provide members with a better service experience and accelerate rapid digital transformation. The adoption of AI tools can streamline repetitive workflows such as: inquiring about industry knowledge and latest news, government programs, and talent training courses. The TMBA's AI Agent will deeply learn machine tool industry knowledge and automatically cross-analyze system data, helping enterprises focus on more valuable work.

Workshop Highlight: Hands-on AI Application Experience

By offering a hands-on experience in building a personal AI Agent and utilizing the TMBA Machine Tool Industry Knowledge Member Platform, the TMBA demonstrated how to leverage existing digital tools and the platform combined with AI technology to solve internal industry challenges. This allowed members to personally experience the convenience and benefits brought by AI, showing everyone that "AI is not far from us!"

TMBA Chairman Po-Chia Chen stated: "The strength of an industry ecosystem lies in diversity and collaboration, which are key to innovation and sustainability." He called on representatives from industry, government, academia, and research, as well as cross-industry associations, to cooperate, jointly map out the market, and enhance the competitiveness and added value of Taiwan's machine tool industry. The TMBA will continue to host a series of events, strengthen the ecosystem, and achieve symbiotic complementarity to co-create industrial prosperity.
