TMTS 2026 Makes a Grand Return to Taichung: "Ecosystem Joint Exhibition" to Define the New Landscape of Smart Manufacturing
The Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS 2026) is set to make a grand return to Taichung from March 25 to 28, 2026. On May 16, the organizer, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), held an exhibition briefing to provide a comprehensive overview of the event planning, ecosystem-based exhibition mechanisms, new venue facilities, and registration procedures.
A notable highlight of the briefing was the attendance of Chang Feng-yuan, Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau of the Taichung City Government, underscoring the collaborative commitment between the public and private sectors to drive industrial upgrading and internationalization.
A New Chapter at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center (TICEC)
For the first time, TMTS will be hosted at the newly completed Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center (TICEC). Built by the Taichung City Government and operated by TAITRA, the venue is strategically located in the Shuinan Economic and Trade Park. By leveraging Taichung’s robust machine tool industrial cluster and the "front-end showroom, back-end factory" geographical advantage, the event creates a "production-site-as-exhibition-hall" platform that seamlessly connects manufacturing sites with market demands.
Theme: AI-Powered Sustainable Manufacturing
Building on the foundations of Digital Transformation (DX) and Green Transformation (GX) established in 2024, TMTS 2026 centers on the theme "AI-Powered Sustainable Manufacturing." The exhibition will focus on the integrated application of AI in manufacturing processes and sustainability strategies.
Exhibits will span the latest machine tool equipment, smart manufacturing systems, automation technology, and key components. To showcase the industry's progress toward smart manufacturing, ten themed zones have been planned:
-
Intelligence: AI-Driven Production, Smart Networking, Human-Robot Collaboration, Digital Twin, Big Data Management.
-
Sustainability: Smart Energy Saving, Resource Efficiency, Environmental Certification, Green Supply Chain, Sustainable Product Design.
Three Strategies for Ecosystem-Based Exhibition
To break away from traditional exhibition formats, TMTS 2026 introduces an "Ecosystem Joint Exhibition" core, proposing three key strategies:
-
From Displaying Machines to Displaying Customer Value: Focus on end-customer success stories and value KPIs to demonstrate the tangible benefits of solutions.
-
From Static Displays to Immersive Experiences: Feature Live Demos, VR/AR factory tours, and machining challenges to enhance engagement and memorability.
-
From Standalone Thinking to Cross-Industry Co-creation: Connect machine tool builders, component suppliers, AI software providers, and green certification bodies to showcase intelligent integration and sustainable value.
Registration Information
During the briefing, the organizers detailed the registration and booth consolidation application processes. Official registration for TMTS 2026 will open on June 4, and is expected to draw significant interest from both domestic and international exhibitors and buyers.
TMBA emphasized that this exhibition is not merely an industry event, but a vital milestone in steering Taiwan’s machinery industry toward a smarter, more international, and sustainable future.
