SEMICON Taiwan is the most international and the only professional semiconductor exhibition in Taiwan, holding significant influence in the global semiconductor industry. It has become the world’s second-largest semiconductor trade show. From September 4 to 6, the event was grandly held at Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, featuring over 1,100 exhibitors and 3,700 booths, attracting participants from 56 countries worldwide.

The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) gathered its member companies to set up the “TMBA SMART TEAM – Intelligent Machine Tool Team” zone, showcasing comprehensive solutions that the intelligent machine tool team offers to the semiconductor industry. Recently, the government has actively promoted the transformation and upgrading of machine tool manufacturers to enter the semiconductor sector. To express gratitude for the industry’s support of these policies, TMBA Chairman Patrick Chen was specially invited on the opening day to attend the inauguration ceremony of the “Localized Semiconductor Equipment Components Zone,” guided by the Department of Industrial Technology and organized by the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre.

This event brought together 19 Taiwanese semiconductor and electronic equipment companies, including Topco, Grand Plastic, G2C Alliance, Topkey, and Sinyoung, as well as representatives from the Taiwan Electronic Equipment Industry Association, SEMI, and academia. The goal was to promote cross-industry collaboration between domestic machine tool and machinery manufacturers and the semiconductor sector, strengthening the resilience of Taiwan’s localized semiconductor supply chain.

During his speech, Chairman Chen expressed his delight in participating in the opening ceremony. TMBA invited six member companies—Fair Friend, Chien Yeh, Pusen, Buffalo, Tong Yi, and YCM—to jointly form the “TMBA SMART TEAM – Intelligent Machine Tool Team,” demonstrating the manufacturing craftsmanship and precision design of the machine tool industry. These solutions not only enhance efficiency and flexibility in semiconductor manufacturing but also meet customer demands for high quality and green production. Chen hopes this exhibition will attract international attention, strengthen exchanges with Taiwan’s semiconductor equipment industry, create business opportunities, and position TMBA as a key driver in leading the global semiconductor industry toward a smarter and greener future.
