Driven by growing demand for AI, advanced process technologies, and advanced packaging, semiconductor equipment investment continues to rise. For the third consecutive year, TMBA presented the SMART TEAM pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan, bringing together eight member companies and PMC. The pavilion showcased cross-disciplinary capabilities in precision machining, critical components, thermal management, grinding, surface finishing, and international certification. By connecting suppliers with equipment manufacturers, wafer fabs, and engineering teams, TMBA is helping Taiwan’s machine tool industry evolve from individual machining and component suppliers into long-term equipment development partners while strengthening its role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
Driven by AI and high-performance computing, the semiconductor industry is shifting from process miniaturization toward system-level integration and advanced packaging, placing new pressure on equipment capacity, lead times, and local supply chain resilience. Held during SEMICON Taiwan 2026, the Semiconductor Supply Chain Resilience Forum created a platform for two-way collaboration between semiconductor players and Taiwan’s precision machinery sector. Discussions highlighted co-development, quality traceability, packaging and testing applications, and industrial capability mapping, underscoring how Taiwan’s machine tool and component makers can move from specialized suppliers to valuable manufacturing partners in the semiconductor equipment ecosystem.
The world’s premier semiconductor event, SEMICON Taiwan 2025, concluded successfully on September 12. Marking its 30th anniversary, the exhibition was elevated to the status of an International Semiconductor Week under the theme “Together for Innovation.” Over three days, the show attracted more than 100,000 visitors, featured 1,200 companies from 65 countries, and hosted 4,100 booths, underscoring Taiwan’s pivotal role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
In September, TMBA participated in SEMICON Taiwan, establishing the “TMBA SMART TEAM” zone to showcase machine tool solutions for the semiconductor industry. The government promotes transformation of machine tool manufacturers and hosted the opening of the “Localized Semiconductor Equipment Components Zone” to foster cross-industry collaboration. TMBA invited six member companies to exhibit advanced manufacturing and green solutions, aiming to enhance international engagement and strengthen Taiwan’s semiconductor supply chain resilience. This initiative positions TMBA as a key driver in leading the industry toward smarter and more sustainable development.
