The long-awaited Elimi Cycling Consensus Camp finally took place in the crisp autumn air, as everyone joyfully headed to the southernmost tip of Taiwan—Kenting, with its blue skies and turquoise seas—for a three-day journey. Though these busy female executives are not professional cyclists, their gear had to be top-notch. After a group vote, the team unveiled a stunning jersey that embodies the Elimi spirit—gentle yet resilient—hoping for the most stylish, safe, and comfortable experience.

The Joy of a First Cycling Adventure
Before setting off, the bike shop thoughtfully assigned each rider a bike suited to her height and provided detailed instructions and reminders. The ladies were eager and excited, taking trial rides and group photos in the hotel plaza before finally setting off toward Guanshan—destination: the famous Guanshan Sunset! Elimi is on the move!

A gentle breeze and perfect sunshine accompanied us as we rode along the Ping-E Highway under the coach’s guidance, forming a beautiful purple ribbon flowing through Kenting’s streets. Passing vehicles couldn’t help but stare, curious about where this elegant cycling team came from.

To catch the sunset, we pushed hard for the last stretch, and luckily, we made it just in time. Phones came out to capture one of Kenting’s eight scenic wonders—the Guanshan Sunset—preserving Elimi’s graceful silhouette in the golden glow. Though some riders’ legs were trembling and others complained of sore seats, those worries vanished into thin air. Even with electric-assist bikes, perseverance and pedaling were essential. For many who hadn’t ridden in years, this was a personal triumph: “I did it!”

With the first day’s experience under our belts, day two felt easier. At 6:30 a.m., under the early dawn light, we headed south toward Eluanbi. The Eluanbi Park was serene in the morning, and we discovered a new art installation. Ms. Tsai Hui-Ching, General Manager of Hiwin Technologies, gave an impromptu outdoor lecture introducing a piece by internationally renowned sculptor Kang Mu-Xiang—“Rebirth”—crafted from retired steel cables from Taipei 101, symbolizing a baby cradled in its mother’s arms, blending harmoniously with nature and the Eluanbi Lighthouse. Truly, “reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand miles.”

We pressed on to the most challenging section of the trip, climbing toward Longpan Grassland. The uphill pedaling was tough, and the notorious “falling wind” tested our endurance. We applied the V-formation theory to reduce wind resistance by sticking close to the lead rider. On the return, we enjoyed a special outdoor breakfast by the Shipai Rock coastline, wrapping up two days of cycling and promising to meet again for a round-the-island ride next year.

Beauty in Day and Night
Our quarterly meetings always feel too short, so this three-day, two-night camp was a rare treat. Beyond the dynamic cycling challenge that tested our willpower and stamina, we enjoyed quieter activities—exploring Hengchun Old Town, reminiscing about Chen Da’s folk songs, and revisiting our school days with a home economics class making agave-fiber water bottle holders, a unique local craft.

Evenings brought a different kind of magic. Free from work and family obligations, we returned to ourselves—relaxing, savoring life. In this beautiful night setting, we gathered to enjoy wine, sing, share heartfelt conversations, exchange practical insights, and recount life experiences—full of sincerity, care, and sisterhood.

Life offers endless lessons. Reflecting on these days, Elimi’s founding president, Ms. Tsai Hui-Ching, shared her observations in a management session: Service marketing and emotional engagement start with understanding your audience. Preparation and research are key to meeting client needs and delivering satisfaction. Small details make a big difference—the devil is in the details.

Behind every successful event is a hardworking team: sixth-term president Yan Lu, secretary-general Huang Jia-Lin, and officer Chen Jia-Wen, whose brilliant final-day idea—a seaside café—gave everyone the chance to snap stunning photos. Simple silhouettes and backdrops can be breathtaking. This camp strengthened team cohesion and fostered meaningful exchanges of perspectives and suggestions. The 2024 Elimi Cycling Consensus Camp concluded in Kenting with unforgettable memories and the most beautiful moments.
