TMBA Wins Ministry of the Interior’s 2024 National Outstanding Professional Association Award
On November 11, the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) held the 78th Industrial Day Celebration at the Grand Hotel Taipei to honor outstanding directors, supervisors, and associations in the industrial and mining sectors for 2024, as well as present certificates of appreciation to enterprises with long-standing histories. This year, 540 companies with over 50 years of establishment and 562 companies with 40–49 years of history were recognized.
The event featured Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and Minister of Economic Affairs Guo Tzi-Chih as keynote speakers. CNFI Chairman Pan Chun-Rong represented the organizers, extending congratulations to all industrial representatives, award recipients, and companies for their dedication to business operations. In her speech, the Vice President expressed her honor in representing the President at this significant occasion, thanking industry leaders for their contributions to Taiwan’s economic development. She emphasized that despite global challenges such as geopolitical shifts, trade competition, pandemics, wars, and high inflation, Taiwan’s industries have demonstrated strong resilience, leveraging their solid foundations to adapt and thrive even in times of adversity.
The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) received the National Outstanding Professional Association Award from the Ministry of the Interior, with Vice Chairman Chen Cheng accepting the honor on behalf of the association. Since 2021, TMBA has implemented the “Smart Machinery Overseas Promotion Program – Digital Marketing Guidance Project” under the Bureau of Foreign Trade, assisting over 60 companies within three years and earning positive feedback from member firms. In 2023, TMBA supported the industry’s green transition through post-pandemic decarbonization initiatives and subsidy programs encouraging collaboration among machine tool manufacturers, component suppliers, and end customers to reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, in November, TMBA organized Taiwan’s first ISO 14067 Carbon Footprint course for the machine tool industry, proactively preparing for carbon footprint calculations for machine tools and components.
Furthermore, TMBA Supervisory Committee Convener Hu Wei-Hua was honored as an Outstanding Director/Supervisor in the Industrial and Mining Sector for 2024, with Taiwan Litz Vice President Chiang Huan-Rong accepting the award on his behalf. Since 2010, Hu has served in various roles, including second-term supervisor, third-term director, fourth-term executive director, and fifth- and sixth-term supervisory committee convener. His active participation in association affairs has helped TMBA consistently achieve excellent performance evaluations by the Ministry of the Interior, strengthening member loyalty and cohesion.
