Connecting Industry and Campus — Guiding Students into the Machine Tool Industry

To help young students become familiar with the machine tool industry at an earlier stage and understand real workplace environments, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) continues to play the role of an industry platform. By connecting member companies, schools, and career-matching resources, TMBA supports company-planned factory tours, process introductions, and workplace exchanges, guiding students beyond the classroom to observe the technology, equipment, and talent needs behind precision manufacturing up close.

This student workplace visit initiative received the joint support of YINSH Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. and Victor Taichung Machinery Works Co., Ltd. According to current statistics, six visits had been completed as of September 2026, involving Taichung Municipal Shalu Industrial High School, Taichung Municipal Wu Chuan Junior High School, Taichung Autumn Seedling Experimental Education Institution, Nantou County Yan-He Junior High School, and Nantou County Fong-Ming Junior High School. A total of 209 students entered industrial sites, with 12 corporate volunteers assisting with reception and guided tours. Through production-line visits, product and process briefings, and experience sharing by company personnel, students were able to connect classroom learning with real industrial contexts and further understand the applications of machine tools, precision components, and smart manufacturing.

YINSH Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. has long been committed to cultivating technical and vocational talent. In addition to promoting industry-academia-training cooperation, the company also participates in diversified programs such as industry-academia collaborative classes, dual-system flagship training, student internships, and R&D talent development, enabling students to build practical capabilities through learning by doing. By hosting students at different stages of learning, the company further extends industry-academia cooperation to younger learners, helping them develop an accurate understanding of manufacturing and recognize the technology, quality, and professionalism behind precision components.

Victor Taichung Machinery Works Co., Ltd. has also long supported technical and vocational education. In the past, the company has combined school curricula, vocational training, and corporate resources to promote industry-academia-training cooperation, while opening its smart factory as a teaching and observation site. By hosting students from Nantou County Yan-He Junior High School and Nantou County Fong-Ming Junior High School, the company enabled students to gain first-hand understanding of machine tool manufacturing, smart production, and corporate workplace environments, broadening their imagination of the machinery industry and future career pathways.

Talent cultivation requires the joint commitment of schools and industry. TMBA will continue to connect member companies with educational institutions, encouraging more companies to open their facilities and share technologies and experience. In doing so, career exploration can move beyond the classroom and, through repeated real-world engagement, guide students to understand the industry, discover their interests, and help cultivate the next generation of talent for the machine tool industry.
