elimi Sisters Challenge Themselves and Realize Their Potential – Stepping It Up!
On March 7, during the Spring Gathering, elimi visited Tiangong Precision Machinery in Taichung, a leading shoe machinery brand founded in 1982. Executive Vice President Huang Peici shared Tiangong’s ups and downs over the decades: facing the oil crisis, shareholder departures, and failed transformation attempts. Through these adversities, the company upheld its core values and culture of “Three More, Three Solid” (more encouragement, more tolerance, more learning; being honest, working diligently, and building solid machinery). Guided by a firm and positive management philosophy, Tiangong steadily strengthened and grew.
Since 2018, Tiangong has set annual business themes and goals to actively pursue breakthroughs and growth—from the initial “Inheritance and Transformation” to 2024’s “Start with Thinking, Befriend Technology, End with Customers.” By grasping market trends, meeting challenges, and seizing opportunities, the company promotes healthy development. It plans to win a sustainability award in 2025 and achieve its ambitious goal of using 100% green electricity in its facilities by 2030. Chairman Huang Fengwu is fond of a quote by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando: “People need challenges to keep feeling inspired.” Challenges are nourishment; every step through hardship leads to a better future. With “Stepping It Up” as its motto, Tiangong strives to keep moving forward.
During the Q&A session, Chairman Huang also shared his philosophy of leading with both heart and mind. Beyond solid employee benefits, training, talent development, and cultural foundations, Tiangong values the physical and mental well-being of its team. It has planned facilities such as a gym, badminton court, and golf practice area, and even organizes mountain hikes at New Year to greet the first sunrise together—overcoming hardships, reaching goals, and strengthening team unity. Throughout the guided tours, the enthusiasm and dedication of employees, and their pride in being part of Tiangong, were evident.
To explore new and unknown challenges, elimi invited Sophie (Su Xiuqin), Principal of the Taiwan Ocean Sailing School, to guide the sisters toward a great voyage. Sophie, an ASA-certified instructor with international credentials, explained that sailing offers time to face oneself, understand oneself better, and build confidence through challenges.
Women at the helm are still rare, but in reality, their stability and endurance on board are no less than men’s. Steering your own course at sea is like leading your own company—many outstanding women excel, just like elimi’s partners. Everyone is encouraged not to set limits, to challenge conventional thinking, learn new skills, live in harmony with nature, and ultimately explore themselves, their future, and realize their potential.
