Trade Bureau Teams Up with Associations to Enter the Mexican Market Taiwan’s Smart Manufacturing Shines at EXPOMAQ 2024
To help Taiwanese businesses capture the Mexican market, the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs implemented diverse marketing strategies and led companies to participate in the Mexican machine tool exhibition (EXPOMAQ 2024). The event was executed by the Precision Machinery Research & Development Center, with the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association and the Taiwan Fluid Power Association jointly organizing a delegation. A total of 21 companies exhibited, covering an area of 400 square meters. Each showcased their latest technologies and products, highlighting Taiwan’s leadership in smart manufacturing and precision machinery.
On the opening day, five Taiwanese companies—Jianhe, Shenqi, Youshun, Taiwan AirTAC, and Wuhan Machinery—were invited to hold a joint press conference. By forming alliances across upstream and downstream applications, they promoted integrated marketing and collaborated with local businesses to establish a regional supply chain. This initiative strengthened the connection between Taiwan and the Mexican market, demonstrating Taiwan’s innovative technologies and exceptional manufacturing capabilities.
Taiwan-Mexico Cooperation Takes a New Step
The opening-day press conference began with remarks by Secretary Xu Boxiang from the Mexican representative office abroad, who noted: “Mexico imported about USD 8 billion worth of machine tools and related parts last year, making it a net importer of these products. With Mexico’s automotive plants concentrated locally, there is strong rigid demand for machinery products, so Taiwanese companies should continue to pay attention.” The event also invited representatives from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and relevant Mexican industry associations to witness the remarkable achievements of Taiwan’s manufacturing sector. Guests expressed high recognition of Taiwan’s innovative strength and market potential, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Five Leading Companies Showcase Innovative Technologies
At the press conference, five companies representing Taiwan’s cutting-edge manufacturing technologies presented their products:
- Youshun Precision: Hydraulic rotary actuators and fluid viscous dampers
- Jianhe Machinery: High-precision grinding machines
- Shenqi Industrial: SHF precision warm and hot forging presses
- Taiwan AirTAC: HDE series mechanical grippers
- Wuhan Machinery: Hydraulic cartridge valves and compact hydraulic power units
Looking Ahead: Deepening Cooperation
The successful press conference not only showcased Taiwan’s spirit of innovation and technological prowess but also opened a new chapter for collaboration between Taiwan and the Mexican market. The Bureau of Foreign Trade hopes that through this event, deeper cooperation can be developed across more industrial sectors in the future, jointly promoting the continuous growth of smart manufacturing and innovative industries.
