Key awardees and innovative technologies include: CHUAN HSIN’s hydrostatic wafer grinding machine, offering high-precision, low-vibration solutions for semiconductor SiC wafer thinning; EXCETEK and CHMER’s smart, energy-saving Wire Cut EDMs, featuring energy recovery, substantial carbon emission reduction, and efficiency improvements; and HIWIN’s RCH-100E High-Speed EDM Milling Head, upgrading traditional EDM to highly efficient EDM Milling. All winning products emphasize modular design, AI diagnostics, and energy monitoring, addressing stringent global demands for carbon neutrality and smart manufacturing.
As global tensions ease and net-zero trends accelerate in 2025, the 17th "Machine Tool R&D Innovation Award" was held at TIMTOS. The Grand Prize was awarded to Fatek Technology for its BMC-135FTS Boring Machine, which excelled through modular design, high-load capacity, and AR-based remote maintenance. Other winners, including Wele and Tongtai, showcased advancements in 5-axis multitasking, digital twin anti-collision systems, and energy monitoring.
