In September, TMBA participated in SEMICON Taiwan, establishing the “TMBA SMART TEAM” zone to showcase machine tool solutions for the semiconductor industry. The government promotes transformation of machine tool manufacturers and hosted the opening of the “Localized Semiconductor Equipment Components Zone” to foster cross-industry collaboration. TMBA invited six member companies to exhibit advanced manufacturing and green solutions, aiming to enhance international engagement and strengthen Taiwan’s semiconductor supply chain resilience. This initiative positions TMBA as a key driver in leading the industry toward smarter and more sustainable development.

The AMB Stuttgart Metalworking Exhibition gathered 1,244 exhibitors worldwide, focusing on Industry 4.0, AI, automation, and energy efficiency. The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association led 23 companies to showcase advanced technologies and customized solutions, aiming to strengthen their presence in the European market. Taiwanese machine tools account for about 20% of exports to Europe, mainly to Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy. Through this event, Taiwan seeks to enhance global visibility and competitiveness in the international metalworking industry.

The “AI Implementation and International Cooperation Forum for Smart Machinery Value Transformation” was held on August 16 in Taichung, gathering experts to discuss AI applications in smart manufacturing. Professor Li Jie shared successful industrial AI cases, while Dr. Hsiao Jen-Chung emphasized the importance of intelligence, cyber-physical integration, and green transformation. A panel discussion further explored strategies for industrial upgrading and international collaboration, envisioning Taiwan’s future in driving smart machinery innovation through AI.

Exhibition was held in New Delhi in July, attracting nearly 400 exhibitors worldwide, including eight Taiwanese companies organized by the association. The event focused on CNC machines in line with the “Make in India” initiative, while automation demand remained limited. Taiwan exhibitors actively sought partnerships, noting India’s vast market potential but facing challenges such as price sensitivity and incomplete supply chains. To succeed, Taiwanese firms should integrate resources, offer one-stop solutions, and adopt group marketing strategies to capture opportunities in the Indian market.

The AI Smart Factory Forum, co-hosted by TechOrange and TMBA, explored how AI can enhance manufacturing competitiveness. The event focused on the machine tool ecosystem, digital transformation, and knowledge management, featuring insights from government officials and AI experts from SAS, NVIDIA, and others. TMBA Chairman emphasized the importance of building a solid knowledge management foundation to foster technical collaboration, develop high-value-added products, and help manufacturers overcome digital transformation barriers. The forum highlighted strategies to expand industry scale and market share through AI-driven innovation and ecosystem thinking.

Workshop, held in Hualien, aims to equip rural students with professional skills in smart machinery and bridge the gap between theory and practice. Combining lectures with hands-on training, the camp offers two tracks: Mechanical Design and Electromechanical Integration. Industry experts provided guidance and access to advanced technologies and equipment. The program not only enhanced students’ technical abilities and sparked interest but also promoted industry-academia collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future careers. The workshop received high praise from both teachers and students for its practical value and contribution to talent development.
