By participating in ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE 2025 and visiting the Lubuski Metal Cluster (LKM), TMBA identified significant opportunities in the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors. While Poland possesses a solid automation foundation, it faces labor shortages and a domestic supply gap for high-end CNC tools, presenting a "blue ocean" for Taiwanese manufacturers. To succeed, Taiwan’s firms must build local strategic partnerships, overcome language barriers, and provide responsive, intelligent technical support to capture this high-growth market.

TMTS 2026 will return to Taichung from March 25–28, 2026, debuting at the new TICEC. Themed "AI-Powered Sustainable Manufacturing," the event focuses on integrating AI with Green Transformation (GX). Organized by TMBA, the show introduces an "Ecosystem Joint Exhibition" model, shifting focus from hardware to customer value and immersive interaction. By leveraging Taichung’s industrial clusters, it creates a "production-site-as-exhibition-hall" platform. This milestone event aims to drive Taiwan’s machinery industry toward global intelligence and sustainability. Booth registration officially opens on June 4.

To address demographic shifts and industrial restructuring, MOEA, MOE, MOL, and TMBA convened a symposium focused on industry-academia integration, technical training, international recruitment, and digital education. TMBA representatives urged strengthening vocational training, increasing stipends, and establishing competency assessments to bridge talent gaps. The industry also advocates for AI knowledge platforms and Digital Twin technology to enhance training efficiency and reduce costs. CIMT 2025 set a decade-high record with 310,000 $m^2$ of exhibition space. The event centered on four pillars: Smart, Automated, Digital, and Green manufacturing. Key highlights included AI-driven monitoring, process integration, and unmanned production lines. While regional differences exist in green transformation, China's market dominance continues to grow, fueled by policy support and emerging sectors like robotics and aerospace. Over 100 Taiwanese exhibitors participated, showcasing their expertise in 5-axis machining and intelligent integrated solutions.

In 2024, TMBA and Germany’s VDW debuted the umati protocol in Taiwan, marking a milestone in bilateral cooperation. Dr. Markus Heering (VDW) highlights that EMO 2025 and TMTS 2026 share a vision centered on the "Magic Triangle": Automation, Digitalization, and Sustainability. AI is positioned as the next vital step in digital evolution, enhancing connectivity and energy efficiency. By leveraging umati for seamless data flow and AI for flexible production, the industry can overcome labor shortages and rising costs. Furthermore, both associations are collaborating on Product Category Rules (PCR) to simplify carbon footprint calculations, driving the global machine tool industry toward a sustainable, AI-powered future.

Taiwan's machine tool industry is renowned globally for its precision technology and innovation capabilities, playing a crucial role in the global manufacturing supply chain for a long time. However, as the global economy remains full of uncertainties in 2025, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) held the "2025 Machine Tool Industry Outlook" press conference on January 13th. Chairman Po-Chia Chen shared the current industry status and future outlook during the event. The TMBA maintains a cautious yet optimistic attitude towards the industry's economic prospects for 2025 and proposed proactive response strategies, aspiring for Taiwan's machine tool industry to continuously enhance its competitiveness and achieve steady development.

The event honored the recipients of the 1st and 2nd Green Energy Labels for machine tools and component products.

Following the successful execution of the inaugural "Machine Tool Industry Energy Label" assessment at TMTS 2024 (Taiwan International Machine Tool Show), the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) received widespread positive feedback from the industry. Machine tool and component manufacturers have continuously invested in green technology R&D and improvements. Therefore, the TMBA has continued the effort by organizing the 2nd Machine Tool Industry Energy Label Assessment to identify energy-efficient machine tools or components, assisting end-users in their selection process.
